Participation in the Conference of University Polish Studies Departments

On June 11–12, the Conference of the Association of University Polish Studies Departments took place in Toruń. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Tomasz Mizerkiewicz, PhD (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań). Representatives from seventeen universities participated in the conference. PNU’s Department of Polish Studies was represented by Samanta Busiło, who presented the key challenges currently facing the Department, as well as the international cooperation initiatives undertaken in recent years by the Department of Slavic Languages at PNU. These include research grants funded by the Polish Academy of Sciences and language promotion programmes run by NAWA in collaboration with the University of Warsaw and the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
We extend our sincere thanks to the organizers and hosts of the event — Prof. Anna Podstawka (John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin) and Prof. Magdalena Bizior (Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń) — for the opportunity to participate in the session dedicated
to Ukrainian Polish Studies departments, their potential, and their needs.
